What's in your policy?

If someone comes into your restaurant or business and starts vaping, what will you do? If you simply have a Tobacco-free policy in place, that individual can legally vape. Iowa adopted the Smokefree Air Act in 2008, but this Act and other Tobacco-free policies do not cover today’s Electronic Smoking Devices (ESDs). That's because ESDs do not burn tobacco; they heat a liquid nicotine solution to create a vapor.

Updating to a Tobacco-free/Nicotine-free (TF/NF) policy is important in protecting the health of your employees and patrons. Free technical assistance is available to help you update your policy. Email or call (712.737.2971) today and ask to speak to a Community Health Partners Tobacco Prevention Coordinator.
